The Sisler CREATE Post-High IDM program gets you hands-on experience with pro software, real projects, and guidance from industry pros. Dive into the world of Interactive Digital Media by choosing to specialize in the Game Design or 3D Animation Stream!

Sisler CREATE is a free 1-year program designed to help you develop your skills, grow your portfolio, and get job-ready for the industry and/or secondary education! Apply now and start creating the digital Portfolio of your dreams.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

New Media Manitoba MentorshipWeekly Virtual Production classes and mentorship at NMM’s StudioLab xR.

REEL FX Animation Mentorship3D Animation students work with REEL FX mentors to learn the 3D animation pipeline and manage a project with monthly mentorship from the studio.

Ubisoft Winnipeg Mentorship: Game Design students create games under the mentorship from Ubisoft.

Industry Access: The IDM cohort visits various game companies/institutions each year (EA studios, Think Tank & Vancouver Film School). Previous years have included an all-paid trip to Montréal, Toronto, and Vancouver!

Skills Canada: Students compete annually in the Skills Manitoba competition, many of our students have competed nationally at Skills Canada!

APPLY TO THE IDM POST-HIGH PROGRAM:

SETTING UP YOUR PORTFOLIO:

*Please note that we will be assessing applicants ability to follow instructions and attention to details. Please read and follow the instructions.

Portfolio Setup:

  1. Create a Google Drive folder and title it: [Your First Name] [Your Last Name] – 2026-27 Portfolio
  2. Share the folder with: balibudbud@wsd1.org, jslavic`ek@wsd1.org, jrempelsmith@wsd1.org, gcollins@wsd1.org
  3. Inside your shared folder, create the following subfolders:
    • Part A: Written
    • Part B: Showcase
    • Part C: Letter of Reference
      • Note: These folders can be empty at the time you apply. However, you should have everything for your portfolio uploaded before the application deadline.
  4. To share your Portfolio Google Drive folder using a link, you’ll first need to go to your Google Drive. Then, right-click on the [First Name] [Last Name] 2026-27 Portfolio folder, you want to share, click “Share,” and choose the sharing method – choose “Anyone with the link,” anyone who clicks on the generated link will be able to have View access the folder. After selecting the sharing method, you can “Copy link” and share it with us.
  5. Submit this link to the Post-High Application Form.

Game Design Portfolio Requirements

Part A: Written

Respond to the following prompts in a short written piece (250-400 words):

  • Why have you chosen to apply for CREATE’s Interactive Digital Media program? How does it fit with your future goals?
  • What aspect of game design are you most passionate about? Explain.

Part B: Showcase

Submit three pieces of your work that best showcase your skills:

  • three segments of code (with an explanation of their context and purpose)

OR

  • three game assets (artwork, models, animations, sound, etc.)

OR

  • a combination of 3 segments of code and game assets

Part C: Letter of Reference

  • Please include a letter of reference from your teacher preferably a teacher who has taught you in the area you are applying for i.e. computer science, IDM.  If you have no teacher who taught you those subjects, please select a teacher who has known you for 2 years and can attest to your work ethic and habits.

3D Modelling Portfolio Requirements

Part A: Written

Respond to the following prompts in a short written piece (250-400 words):

  • Why have you chosen to apply for CREATE’s Interactive Digital Media program? How does it fit with your future goals?
  • What aspect of 3D are you most passionate about? Explain.

Part B: Showcase

  • Submit 5 pieces of work that best showcase your creative skills. The work should be all in based on 3D art which can include models, animations, and assets.

Part C: Letter of Reference

  • Please include a letter of reference from your teacher preferably a teacher who has taught you in the area you are applying for i.e. IDM, art, asset creation, game design.  If you have no teacher who taught you those subjects, please select a teacher who has known you for 2 years and can attest to your work ethic and habits.
